😇 The Little Angels' Attic

Long before there was a Pet Clinic, this old stone building was a little church. When the church moved across town, Dr. Brett opened the Pet Clinic downstairs, and the Pet Detective Agency set up its desks right next door.

But late at night, after the last patient went home, the team kept hearing noises up in the attic. Little footsteps. Giggles. Once, the sound of a tiny piano. They searched every closet and every hallway and found nothing.

Then one rainy afternoon, a puppy chasing a ball bumped an old bookshelf, and a wooden panel swung open. Behind it was a secret staircase, winding up into the dark.

Long ago, the church had kept a home up here for children with nowhere else to go. When the church moved out, a few kind people quietly kept it going: warm blankets, a shelf of storybooks, a table full of games, and a window where you can watch the snow fall. It was open and free to any kid who needed a safe place to be.

The team didn't close it. They oiled the hinges, left the secret door open, and put up a little sign: "Welcome to anyone who needs help, or just a nice safe place to hang out and play some games." That's where the Little Angels come from.
