Privacy policy
Pet Detective is built to keep your information on your own phone. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking.
What stays on your phone
- Camera: used only when you tap Scan or take a photo in the clinic, the Toy Clinic or the Dog Park. The pictures are read by Pet Detective's own mood eye on your phone. They are not uploaded.
- Microphone: used only while you hold the talk button, use Listen, or during a scan. Sounds are analysed on your phone and are not uploaded or saved, except a greeting you choose to save.
- What you type or choose: your pet's name and type, clinic answers, mood diary, reminders and health notes are stored only on your phone, inside the app.
- Reminders are scheduled by your phone's own notification system.
When something leaves your phone
- The trainer's voice: when you are online, the app's spoken words (text written by the app, not your recordings) may be turned into speech by your phone's text-to-speech service, for example Google's. That service is run by your phone's maker or Google under their own privacy policies. Offline, the phone's built-in voice is used.
- Find a vet near me: opens a map search (for example "vet near me") in Google Maps, which uses your location under Google's privacy policy. Pet Detective does not receive your location.
- Sharing: only when you tap Share (a Vet Visit Report, a mood card, a certificate or a photo) does the app hand it to the app you pick, such as Messages or email.
- Online check: the app checks whether you are online by asking a Google address that returns no data (no cookies, nothing about you).
What we never do
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no selling or sharing of your data.
- Pet Detective is not a veterinarian and does not diagnose. Its clinic helps you decide how soon to see a vet.
Children
Pet Detective is made for pet owners and is fun for the whole family. It does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, and nothing you enter leaves your phone except as described above.
Deleting your information
Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in your phone's settings, deletes everything it saved.
This website
This website has no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. Its font is stored on this site, so your browser does not contact anyone else to show it. If you use "Save a spot", your own email app sends us a message; we use your email address only to tell you when Pet Detective is on Google Play.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
